Talent XP belongs to the class
The inspected talent menu says runs award class talent experience for survival, kills, bosses and wins; harder zones award more. Do not confuse this with the choices you make during a run or account-wide achievement points.
The Warlock panel showed a 51-point maximum. Its fresh-save display was 0/80 XP toward the next point: that is one observed threshold, not a formula for every level.
Read the branch gates before planning a build
The menu says five points spent in the same branch open the next row, with milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points. A node may also require a named earlier talent. Reaching a point total alone does not prove that every node is available.
Warlock example: three branches
Affliction, Demonology and Destruction were visible. The Felguard node required 30 points in Demonology and a preceding milestone talent. This was a prerequisite inspection with zero available points; we did not unlock a Felguard or measure its damage.
Free talent respecs are a separate system
The talent instructions describe free respecs, clicking to spend and right-clicking to refund a point. We read those instructions without allocating or refunding points. Account reward resets use a different counter; do not assume those resets are unlimited too.
A useful next-run check
Record your class, spent points and next milestone. Build around what is unlocked now, rather than a fully developed character in a video. If a recommendation needs a later talent, treat it as a future route rather than a fresh-character starting ability.
Plan gates, not a fictional complete point recipe
The builds guide now lists the inspected 10/20/30-point milestones for every class, with final-talent effects and Druid’s mutually exclusive Bear/Cat choices. A named prerequisite still matters. A milestone table is not a fully tested 51-point allocation.
