Check each layer of growth

Class equipment and talent XP are distinct from account-wide achievements and reward perks. The achievement menu says all heroes and classes contribute to shared progress. Its categories include zones, classes, collections, feats and lifetime progress.

Unlocking a reward is not buying it

The Rewards menu separates achievement requirements from the points needed to purchase a perk. A visible or unlocked reward is not necessarily active. The inspected fresh save showed 2/2 perk resets remaining; we have not tested how that counter changes or replenishes. This is not the free class-talent respec system.

Run Options change the challenge

The inspected menu had four controls. All at 100% displayed rewards of ×1.00.

OptionDisplayed range
Enemy density100–500%
Enemy health100–500%
Enemy damage100–300%
Enemy speed100–150%

Rewards have a ceiling

The menu says the reward bonus for talent XP and boss loot chance caps at ×2. Settings beyond that can increase difficulty without increasing that displayed reward bonus. We have not verified the multiplier formula, how it combines with each item’s chance, or an optimal farming preset.

A practical progression loop

Our suggestion: record your current gear, talent points and purchased rewards; keep difficulty fixed while trying a new route; compare the changes after the run. Only then increase one option. More reward per run does not necessarily mean faster progress per minute.

EP 11 · Permanent progression

At 23:46 the Priest talent menu shows 51 of 51 earned points spent: Discipline 17 / Holy 0 / Shadow 34. It explicitly says respecs are free and lists time survived, kills, bosses and wins as sources of Priest talent experience, with more in harder zones. This menu does not supply an XP formula or prove the best XP-per-minute route.

Equipment, progression and testing limits

Darklight Plays · EP 11 · published 20 October 2026; reviewed 21 October (Pacific time). Feralas / The Gates of Dire Maul. The exact recorded version and build ID could not be reliably read; this is separate from our v0.97.0 menu reference and has not been reproduced in the current version.

Compare like-for-like saves: the opening already shows 51/51 talent points and 25/54 items. The opening reward multiplier also changes from ×1.50 to ×1.46 before entry. Do not treat the earlier settings as a fixed farming prescription or assume a harder run gives better rewards per hour.

Limits: end-of-run equipment and talents are not automatically the starting loadout. A developed save and one cumulative damage panel cannot establish fresh-save performance, a clear rate or superiority over the older Mind Flay / Lightwell examples. Keep difficulty fixed when comparing your own attempts.
